We hope you are doing great! We’ve been quite busy. Our team is currently preparing everything for the manufacturing process to start. We're finishing off the alternate tiles you sent in your suggestions for and finalizing all printing files to be sent to the manufacturers.
But we can’t start this process alone. We also need your info! We have teamed up with the amazing BackerKit team to send you a simple survey in order to collect the info we need to fulfill your rewards and get you your copies of Excavation Earth: It Belongs in a Museum.
The pledge surveys are being sent out today, so you should expect to receive the email by today or tomorrow. The invitation will be sent directly to the email address linked to your Kickstarter account. If you didn't receive yours, make sure to check your spam folder!
The Backerkit mail will include a link that invites you to finalize your pledge, get more add-ons, add extra copies if you’d like to surprise a friend and pay for shipping. Note that any extra copies on top of your existing pledge are limited!
The faster all surveys are completed, the faster we can commence fulfillment. You will have a few weeks to fill it out and we will announce the exact closing date of the pledge manager, so you don't miss out on your order. The survey will stay open for a long time, until a few weeks before the rewards are due to be shipped. More details will follow in future backer updates - stay tuned!
If you lost your survey link, you can take these simple steps to recover it: Find your backer survey by searching for Excavation Earth: It Belongs in a Museum and click on 'Find Project' button. Under the 'Lost your survey?' section, enter the email you used for the project. Press 'Get My Survey' button, and you'll receive another email with your survey link!
If you run into any survey related issues, you can reach out directly to the Backerkit team on firstname.lastname@example.org. They are very friendly and quick to respond!
For any product or shipping related enquiries or any additional questions, you can also contact us directly on email@example.com. As you can imagine, we are very busy working on finalizing the project and fulfilling your rewards so be sure to follow the campaign updates before contacting us.

927% funded! 2532 times THANK YOU! You have been absolutely AMAZING! We’re so happy to see the Excavation Earth universe expand!
It's been an amazing 3 weeks, but don't worry, the end of the Kickstarter campaign does not mean that you won’t hear from us anymore! As we move forward to bring this interstellar experience to your tables, we will update you on development, manufacturing and shipping!
Third lucky Earthling
As promised, we’re giving away one more pledge to a lucky winner! Thank you all for your great suggestions. The last lucky Earthling is macattack99, who cleverly made up a whole history using all of our titles. Congratulations!
"No one knows the exact date but due to one persons vigilantly style Vengeance the wrong person was killed which sparked the next Great War, known as The Genetic Modifications War. The GMW was brutal, days and Nights of Fire turned into weeks, months and years of conflict. Those who survived vividly remember the first rainfalls after the fires were extinguished and how sweet the smell of Petrichor was amongst the ruins. As humanity took toll of the devastation they all assumed the Posthuman era was upon them, as years past the humans continued to survive and rebuilt their last bastion known in the early days as The Fortress into the last Capital of humanity. Then the messages started arriving from the future, or were they from the past… The Anachrony of the messages were confusing to say the least but as the brightest minds tried to comprehend the messages and follow the instructions but it was too late, the asteroid hit earth… no one survived."
In *about 2 weeks* you will receive a Backerkit link. It could take a week and a half, it could take 3. You get the idea! So keep an eye out for that Backerkit email. It will include a link that invites you to finalize your pledge, get more add-ons, add extra copies if you’d like to surprise a friend and pay for shipping.
If you don’t see this e-mail in your Inbox, be sure to check your spam folder in case it ended up there. The quicker you can submit your completed survey, the faster and easier it will be for us to complete fulfilment. If you have any additional questions, don’t hesitate to contact us.
The survey will stay open for a long time, until a few weeks before the rewards are due to be shipped. More details will follow in future backer updates - stay tuned!

48 hours to go: almost 2000 backers and another Stretch Goal down!

You are amazing... Almost 2000 of you?! THANK YOU! And you unlocked another Stretch Goal... 3 more Reverse Engineering Cards will now be part of your It Belongs in a Museum expansion!
That means it's time to announce the next - quite exciting - stretch goal: a new module! At $125,000 you can unlock the Pop-up Markets! What's this? The 10 Pop-up Market cards are small cards that each fit on a different place on the board to a corresponding location. Each card shows either an artefact color ("Special Supply") or a requirement and a reward ("Special Demand"). You reveal one card each time someone surveys, and at the beginning of the 2nd and 3rd round. More info will follow once they are unlocked. Let's crush that Stretch Goal!
Behind the scenes with Turczi & Shaw
We know some of you love to dig into some behind the scenes material, so if you haven't seen them yet, here are 2 videos to fill your Sunday with:
BGG's Candice has released a stellar interview with designer Dávid Turczi, discussing the creation of Excavation Earth and revealing his secret to a good solo mode. Check it out!
Another good watch is Nick Shaw's playthrough of the solo mode! He was testing the new Solo Player Aids you unlocked in the previous Stretch Goal and decided to record the play, so you can all enjoy it!
48 hours to go
With a little over 48 hours to go, there's still plenty you can do!
Did you know you can still send in your suggestions for the sets of Alternate Tiles "Things that go round" (comment in update#3) and "Things that surprise you" (comment in update#2)? At the end of the campaign we will pick the best suggestions and make them part of the Alternate Tile Promo Pack of It Belongs in a Museum. These Alternate Tiles replace tiles with the same color and value in the base game. They are a purely aesthetic change, placing much more remnant diversity in the abandoned human world.
On top of that, you still have a chance to win your pledge back! On Tuesday we will announce the last lucky Earthling... In the future, the aliens are descending upon Earth to excavate the most valuable artefacts. What doyou think happened to all humans? Let us know in the comments in update#6! Back at any pledge level from the Custodian pledge level upwards, comment and you’ll automatically have a chance to win your pledge back! Good luck everyone!
Let's give it our everything in these last days. Tell your friends, family, colleagues, neighbors and extraterrestrial buddies to join and keep excavating!
1 week to go & Second lucky Earthling chosen!

We hope you all had a great weekend and start of the week? Almost 1700 of you decided to join this interstellar party by now and crushed another Stretch Goal on the way. Thank you all!
Many of you have been asking for a Solo Player Aid, which is a great suggestion, so we decided to put it in as the next Stretch Goal. We're getting close... Let's hit that $100k!
Another lucky Earthling!
Every week we select a lucky Earthling that will get their pledge for free! We asked you where on Earth you'd find the most valuable artefacts in the future and loved Eric's answer: a floating garbage field in the ocean, which is definitely (and unfortunately) a source of bountiful riches! Very cool suggestion for a moving tile on the map, floating in the oceans. Congratulations!
Didn't win? Don't worry, you have 1 more chance at winning! In the future, the aliens are descending upon Earth to excavate the most valuable artefacts. What doyou think happened to all humans? Let us know in the comments below! Back at any pledge level from the Custodian pledge level upwards, comment and you’ll automatically have a chance to win your pledge back! Good luck everyone!
More Stretch Goals to come, keep excavating!

There's nothing better than starting the day with a good cup of coffee and reading through your comments! In the previous update we asked where on Earth you'd find the most valuable artefacts in the future and we are LOVING the answers so far! The comment that makes us laugh the most will be next week's lucky winner who gets their pledge for free, so keep 'em coming! The next winner will be announced next Tuesday.
In the meantime we've almost reached $82,000 on Kickstarter! Keep it going, you are AMAZING! The next Stretch Goal is the Plastic Insert at $90k and yes, there's more to come after that!
"The sexiest game I've ever laid eyes on"
More and more of you are sharing your gaming experiences with Excavation Earth and your kind words humble us! Here's a small selection from people that mentioned us this week:
"Excavation Earth from Mighty Boards is one of the best games I played this year. I can see this entering in my top 10 favorite games of all time." - Jose Angel Garza
"The solo mode works flawlessly and plays smoothly. [...] damn, I like the game. I even sleeved the cards (the honor is only given to a few games)!" - Tina & Jen
"This game is honestly one of the best looking I've ever seen. It's also one of the sexiest games I've laid eyes on." - Seth Chatfield
We couldn't agree more with Seth! All credit for the beautiful art goes to Philipp Kruse and Mark Casha! Philipp is an incredibly talented artist who made the Excavation Earth aliens come to life...
We can't thank you enough! Please keep spreading that interstellar love and let's make this an unforgettable campaign!
